Jeg har netop overtaget mine forældres landbrug, da det er på tide, at de går på pension og i stedet nyder deres otium. Derfor er det nu mig, der står for den daglige drift, og at det hele spiller. Det er der i og for sig ikke så meget nyt i, da jeg jo er vokset op i gummistøvler med mudder langt op over knæene og altid har været en stor del af landbruget. Derfor har det også altid ligget i kortene, at det var mig der skulle overtage det, når tid en gang var – og det er så nu!
Mine søskende flyttede til storbyen, så snart de fik muligheden, og har aldrig set sig tilbage. Men alligevel har det stor betydning for dem, at vores familie landbrug bliver ved med at eksistere, derfor er de glade og taknemlige for, at jeg har lysten til at drive det videre mens de lever det liv, som de drømmer om. Det har for mig heller aldrig været en pligt men mere noget, som jeg virkelig har lyst til og har set frem til.
Jeg har i mange år gået og tænkt over, hvordan det skulle være den dag, jeg skulle overtage det hele, og være endelig beslutningtager på alle opgaver. Selvfølgelig lytter jeg til andre, men i dag er det mig, der træffer den endelig beslutning og har det sidste ord.
En ting som jeg har gået og drømt om længe er at begynde at renovere landbruget. Det har selvfølgelig noget charme et ældre landbrug, men rent arbejdsmæssigt og i forhold til dyrene, er der en stor fordel i at gå i gang med at renovere gården.
Og man skal jo starte et sted! Jeg besøgte for nogle år siden et andet landbrug og en af de ting, som jeg blev meget begejstret for var, at de brugte LED lyskilder i deres landbrug. Jeg har derfor rådført mig hos lumega.eu/da, som er specialister inden for belysning. Jeg har erfaret, at eksempelvis mine grise har det bedre i et mørkere og dæmpet lys i dagtimerne og nattetimerne – derfor fraråder de, de klassiske spotlys. Derudover er der også mine ansatte at tænke på, og her er en god og naturlig farvegengivelse vigtigt, eksempelvis i forhold til, at det er lettere at vurdere foderets friskhed, dyrenes tilstand samt at give et mere behageligt lys at arbejde i. En anden fordel er også muligheden for at justere på belysningen, som gør muligheden for energibesparelse større end blot LED i sig selv, som allerede giver en besparelse sammenlignet med traditionelle lyskilder.
Efter udskiftning af belysningen er jeg mere end klar på at komme videre med renoveringen, og mine forældre følger spændt med fra sidelinjen.
